Shining Cliff

This engraving was originally engraved for the Derbyshire-based, White Peak Distilling Company, for their Gin 'Shining Cliff', named after an extensive area of woodland which was at one time a royal hunting forest. During the 18th Century a family of charcoal burners took up residency in an ancient and hollow yew tree within the woods. Legend has it that the way the family's baby was cradled in a hollowed out bough of the tree gave rise to the nursery song 'Rock-a-bye-baby'.

As with all my engravings it is printed from the original block onto a high quality hand made acid-free paper this print is in an edition of 200.

It measures 120mm x 90mm.
