Shimper
£65.00Price
I had the privilege of working with the National Trust to create a sculpture trail at Sheffield Park. It meant I was working deep in an isolated woodland throughout a winter. A wood is I think at its shining-best during winter, and one of the glories is the short days, bringing the low afternoon light flooding liquid-like through the trees. This engraving was inspired by that time.
'Shimper' is an old Sussex dialect word meaning "to shine brightly".
The engraving measures 75mm x 100mm, is hand printed in an edition of 200 on hand made Zerkall paper.
