Here you can explore and purchase a range of Keith’s wood engraving prints, each reflecting his deep connection to storytelling, craft and the natural world. The collections include a series originally engraved and inspired by the ghostly tales of M. R. James and published by Tartarus Press, as well as a body of work drawn from the landscapes, villages, flora and fauna of Keith’s beloved East Sussex.

 

Alongside these, you’ll find a vibrant and colourful collection of prints created using the linocut reduction method, focusing on the insects and birds which inhabit this beautiful corner of the British Isles.

For those interested in learning the craft of wood engraving, Keith offers the opportunity to join a series of hands-on classes. These sessions, held in his studio in East Hoathly, Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to refine your technique, you can book a place and experience the process of creating your own prints under Keith’s expert guidance.

These Tuesday evening workshops held in Keith Pettit's inspirational Studio, are intended for wood engravers who are seeking a focused time every week to immerse themselves in an atmosphere where they can push their engravings along, without interruption. The studio's extensive library on the art of wood engraving will be available, so to the studios antique 1849 Albion printing press and Keith's knowledge gained from 30 years of working in the medium is freely shared providing support and guidance.

Classes will run from 7 to 9.30 - 18th November '25 through to 24th March 2026. With a minimum 4 session commitment; £90.00. Some tools will be available to share. Blocks will be available to buy, please let Keith know your requirements.

we will again end our time together with an end of term show, where everyone is encouraged to contribute the fruits of their labours beginning on the 27th March.

If you would like to join us in the workshop but you've not had any experience of wood engraving, then it would be best to first enrol in the 4 week introduction to wood engraving. With a daytime course starting on the 18th Nov (details and booking HERE) or an evening course beginning on the 20th Nov (details and booking HERE)

All students will have the workshop wood stove at their disposal!

Class sizes will be limited per session - therefore the booking (and deposit) will be first come first serve. You will be booked into the first available week and an email sent to confirm the dates with an invoice for the balancing payment in the weeks leading up to the course starting.

Disability access isn't great unfortunately. The studio is in an old converted service station and it has steps into the entrances and the studio has a split level with steps.
