Product Details

Inspired by a couple of walks on the beautiful South Downs near to me. 2013 was a remarkable year for butterfly's and one walk was accompanied by huge amounts of Marble Whites. This lovely sinewy path climbs Windover Hill from the west- I was struck by the coil of barbed wire around the weathered chestnut fence post- which I felt contrasted with the fragility of the butterfly.

The image has been engraved on one piece of boxwood- left unprepared with a waney edge, to heighten the natural beauty of the piece of wood.

Wood engraving hand printed onto Zerkall mould made paper in an edition of 100. The block measure 125mm at its widest point and 140mm at its highest.

Post and packaging included.
